Selena Gomez and music producer Benny Blanco are now engaged.

Friends of Selena were quick to extend their congratulatory messages online.

The couple worked together in the past on Selena’s tracks “Single Soon” and “I Can’t Get Enough.”

It was in December 2023 when Selena confirmed via social media that she was dating Benny. At that time, the actress revealed that she was dating the music producer for six months already.

She also commented on a fan account that time saying: “He is my absolute everything in my heart.”

In a previous interview with TIME, Selena revealed that she initially planned to adopt and become a single mom before meeting and falling in love with Benny.

“I was alone for five years, and I got really used to it. A lot of people are afraid of being alone, and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it,” she admitted.

“Then I came up with my plan, which was that I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone,” she relayed.

The actress relayed that she met Benny at a time when she least expected.

On what she admires most about her boyfriend, Selena remarked: “He has such strength in him that none of that noise fazes him. It’s really impressive, and I just cherish every moment with him. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that he’s not going anywhere any time soon.”
